I haven't updated this blog in a long time, and unfortunately this is not the time that i am doing that. i just wanted to post this comic that i think is funny. Its by Nathan Stapely. you can see more of his comics
here. they are good you should read them. there are other good ones over there too so look at those too while your at it.
a real update will be soon.
the site is shaking...like theres an earthquake or something...cannot read the comics! boo. hows laguna??
ReplyDeleteha hello ariel i forgot you knew about this place. laguna is good, and so am i! its keeping me busy thats for sure. how is wherever you are going to school? sorry i forgot, i am so out of the loop i havent seen anyone in a long time.
ReplyDeleteawesome! your puppy is really really cute. im jealous. is laguna hard? is it kicking your butt? im keeping busy at csuf. im working on a bunch of art for a portfolio cus i want to transfer to cca this upcoming year.
ReplyDeleteEhh its not really hard, but you have to stay on top of things. I have a lot of late nights. Its not kicking my butt at the moment but if i slack off i have a feeling it very well could kick the heck out of my butt. I never heard of CCA, but judging by the website it looks like its pretty neat, and its in san fran which is really cool. your going to do animation right? you going to live there by yourself?
ReplyDeleteannie's drawing teacher used to teach at laguna. hes kinda mean....anyhoo, do you drive to laguna everyday then? i think that would be the worst thing about going there, all that commuting. i hate driving to csuf and its 10min away. So are you doing a lot of work? What classes are you taking? Yeah, Im trying to be really optimistic about transferring in because I'm dying to get out of here. i'd live on campus, the oakland half of campus has dorms although you have to cook all your own food. i still plan on trying to do animation. its gonna be hard but i'm ready.
ReplyDeleteyep i drive there every day and it sucks. lots of traffic. im taking an artistic anatomy class, where im making a sculpture of the human body, bones muscles etc, fundamentals of illustration class, history of western civilization, a color and composition class, fundamentals of painting class, human evolution, annd a writing class. 18 units total, pretty full schedule. san fran will be fun, you will like it. id like to live there myself one day. id like to see your art so keep me updated yah?
ReplyDeletewooow so many classes. so many awesome classes! i only have 12 units. its what they recommended....i could have taken more. i have beginning drawing (which really taught me nothing but we are forced to take...im basically using it to work on portfolio stuff) an a 2D design class which has taught me a lot and then just a communications class and a math class. im stressing myself out over my portfolio cus im putting all of my hope on the line for this transfer. my gesture drawing needs work. i meant to keep a blog like yours a post stuff but im pretty lazy about it.
ReplyDeleteits good that your focusing on your portfolio, its got to be strong.
ReplyDeleteas for a blog i think its pretty good to have one, just so you can keep a record of your progress as an artist. its not that much work once you get into it, in fact it can be fun.
yeah. im gonna try to keep it up. http://mermaid085.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteanyhoo, do you know if laguna still has that figure drawing model come in on saturdays? like you or annie used to go to? next semester im taking figure drawing but my portfolio and app is due feb 16. so, im looking for some more stuff to do and to improve.
hey thanks, that site is really cool!
ReplyDeletemmmm i have a question. i have a full page of just animal drawings that i have done, an 18 x 24 page, is this of any relevance to a portfolio? can i stick it in there? i mean i have studies of my dog as well, which is from life but can i still include the ones not from life?
